May 2022 - Update
Dear Pursuing Faith family,
As I write this newsletter, spring is in full-bloom here in Colorado. The plants and trees outside my window are bursting with life and color, the sky is vivid blue, and the surrounding hills are slowly turning green after months of wintery brown. It reminds me of Solomon's words, written long ago: “For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come.”
God is a God of new things.
Here at Pursuing Faith, it certainly has been a season of new things. I recently released a new book: Your Longing Has a Name. Drawing from 2 Peter 1, it unpacks 7 practical ways that we can grow in faith. I wrote this book because we are witnessing a crisis of faith in our nation. Fueled by media, entertainment, popular culture, ‘exvangelical’ influencers, theological and philosophical questions, politics, and disappointment with Christian leaders and churches – doubt and deconstruction aren’t merely buzzwords, they are now a full-blown social movement.
I believe that now is the time to address these issues – not only by discussing doubt (as I did in my first book), but also by exploring faith, and its synergistic relationship with the health of the soul.
You see, behind every story of doubt and deconstruction is a soul that is weary, disillusioned or discouraged. If we’re to love these people well, then we need to provide a compelling Biblical vision of faith, and what it looks like for our soul to flourish.
My prayer is that the Lord would use this book to inspire, heal and deepen the faith of many.
Over the next few months, I’ll be speaking on faith and doubt in the following cities. If you live in these areas, we would love to see you:
I’m also excited to announce that we have added more resources to our website, including the first episodes of season 3 of the Pursuing Faith Podcast, an eight-part video series on how to grow in faith, and Bible teachings from the gospel of John. I hope these resources are an encouragement to you!
We are so grateful for your prayers and financial support that enables us to create these resources and bring faith to people throughout the world. Thank you for being such a vital part of this ministry.
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
Dominic Done
